How it works:
-
To begin, select the services you need for the rolls you plan to bring us. You’ll be able to choose your film type, scan method, and any add-on options such as push/pull processing or special handling.
We currently limit orders to a maximum of five rolls per order to help keep turnaround times fair and consistent for everyone.
After selecting your services, add them to your cart and proceed to checkout, where you’ll enter your contact information and create an account if you don’t already have one. Before submitting your order, review the details to ensure everything is correct, then complete payment. Once the order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email with more detailed drop off instructions—be sure to keep this handy, as it will be used to match your film when you drop it off or mail it in.

We pick up every Monday @ NOON from our drop box!
After placing your order online, you can either drop off your film in person or mail it in, depending on what’s most convenient. For drop-off, simply place your rolls in a sealed bag or envelope and make sure your name and order number are included so the lab can correctly match your film to your order.
For the drop box system- you can leave your prepared package in the designated slot at any time.
For mail-in orders- pack your film securely in a padded envelope or small box to protect it during transit, include your order details inside, and send it to the lab’s shipping address. Once your film is received—whether hand delivered or mailed in—it will be checked into the system and added to the processing queue.
Drop box location: Fern Plant Shop

It takes us typically 7-12 business days from the time we receive your order from our drop box or through shipment. If you’d like your film returned within a deadline please check our expedited/rush rates.
Once your film is in our hands, the lab begins the developing process based on the service options you selected during checkout, such as film type, scan resolution, or any special handling like push/pull adjustments. All developing is done completely by hand in small batches, allowing the technicians to give each roll individual attention and ensure the chemistry, timing, and agitation are tailored for the best results. The team processes each roll using precise, manual techniques rather than automated machines, which preserves consistency and gives them the freedom to make small adjustments when needed.
After development, the negatives are scanned at the max resolution we can produce, again handled manually to maintain color accuracy and exposure balance. If any film arrives with unique characteristics—such as age, damage, or unusual exposure—the technicians can adapt the workflow on the spot or reach out with notes.
Once scanning is complete, the digital files are prepared and uploaded. When everything is ready, you’ll receive an email with a link to download your finished scans, along with any comments from the lab. Negatives are then stored for pickup or mailed back to you based on your preference.
Scans are sent through From.Smash
